63-zone dual layer arrangement

There is a 63-zone dual layer arrangement as the metering system to analyse iFCL (focus, colour and luminance information). The four configurations available with this camera are full Evaluative, Centre-weighted, partial, and Spot. With this camera, Canon offers full manual exposure at the time of shooting and full 1080p HD at 30, 25 or 24fps for capturing the class-leading video. If you go for lower resolutions, it is possible to capture the video at up to 60fps. Additionally, the H.264 QuickTime compression makes it easier to capture the video clips of up to 12 minutes length.

New Robotic System for Cameras from Jigabot

For photography enthusiasts who also want to be in the camera frame while taking pictures, there’s some great news. A robotic device will now help them capture various angles without manual handling. Does it get tiresome for you to constantly hold the heavy camera and stand in one place while shooting? Well, with a new innovation, all these problems will come to an end for many photographers.

Robots to help click a variety of snaps

Robots come in various forms, sometimes they are similar to humans and sometimes they help you complete day to day chores. Recently, a company, Jigabot, has come up with a robot system AIMes. This robotic innovation will help you mount cameras onto it which will allow the camera to track movement in shots. This brilliant innovation will help you stay in the frame rather than stand behind the camera. All you have to do is wear an IR sensor which is dedicated, called EmIT. This will allow the mount on the standard tripod, which is motorized, do all the work. This motorized mount is about the size of a small water bottle.

The robotic motorized mount can trace the sensor up to 150 feet away. The mount can tilt vertically at 120 degrees and rotate horizontally at 360 degrees. If you want to capture different angles at a huge set up, then the motorized mount will help you tremendously. The EmIT sensor is able to be traced by various AIMes.

The possibilities…

With the help of the AIMes, parents can take multiple pictures of their children playing around and they can actually be in the snap with their kids. Also, parents can use this to capture their children playing football as it can take multiply shots from various angles, even at a distance. Many professional sportspeople may also be interested in this robotic mount as it will help them capture their every move, so that they can be monitored for analysis later. This innovation will help sports professionals see how they’re playing, what exactly they’re doing, where they are going wrong and how they can better their game. A static camera is incapable of capturing every single movement, so this is a huge step in the field of photography.

The last note

It has been reported that the first version of the AIMes will need a proper line of sight to work, but the company, Jigabot, is already progressing on another version of the robotic mount that won’t require a line of sight. The innovation is to be launched commercially from June 2014 and the entire kit with the EmIT and various kinds of mounts is likely to cost around $299.

Technology and photography enthusiasts are definitely waiting with bated breath for the robotic mount to hit the stores.

Photographic Tripods: Stabilizing Shots

A tripod is a three-legged frame used to provide support to an object. In the world of photography, a tripod is used to rest, stabilize and sometimes elevate a flash unit, a camera and other equipments used for photography. A photography tripod has a mounting head along with its three legs. The mounting head is where the camera is attached or rested for support. The mounting head of a tripod has a thumbscrew, which is meant for a female threaded holder on a camera, and also has a system that allows you to tilt or rotate the camera when it is put on the tripod. Tripod legs are usually foldable, so as to save space when not in use. Tripods used in photography are made of carbon fiber, aluminum, plastic, wood or steel.

The use of tripods

Tripods are used for both styles of photography, motion and still. In both these style, the tripod is used to avoid any kind of camera movement. The tripod is most essential in photography when the lenses in use are of an extreme focal length or when slow speed exposures are in use, because when the shutter is open, any sort of camera movement will result in blurry images. As the tripod reduces any sort of ‘camera shake’, the photos clicked when the camera is kept on the tripod, are extremely sharp. Tripods also help the photographer frame the photos beautifully and precisely. The tripod also allows the photographers to approach the shots more thoughtfully. These are just a few reasons as to why tripods are extremely important to professional photography and also in the case of videos. Many also use tripods as a substitute to C-Stands in photographic accessories.

Types of tripods

There are various kinds of tripods that are used in photography. There are small table top tripods available that are also called tablepods. There are tripods that are also suited for rapid setup on any terrain and at any angle. Some kinds of tripods are used mainly for low-angle photography and some tripods have heads that enable photographers to pan and tilt with ease. Some tripods are for heavy, professional cameras and some for lightweight DSLRs. Tripods with flexible legs are also available.

Therefore, if you want to shoot perfectly framed, sharp photographs, the use of a tripod is essential. Also, tripods are considered the best friends of professional photographers.
